Was invited to attend the AB Double eyelid tape launch event at Sasa last Saturday and had so much fun! Guest of the day was Mr Kelvin from Taiwan. I’m sure Mr Kevin needs no introduction to any Asian girl who’s interested in beauty.
Edit: AB Singapore has started a mini competition for you guys to take part! Stand to win the full range of AB products, $150 cash and Kevin 老师’s autographed poster. More details below!
Kevin sensei is a Taiwanese celebrity makeup artist ; he is a regular guest on one of Taiwan’s most popular and evergreen Beauty TV program ( Nu Ren Wo Zui Da 女人我最大) and He has endorsed countless beauty products. Being such a leader in the beauty world, it’s nothing short to say he would only recommend the best products
The stage event lasted for near an hour but not a moment went past dull for Kevin Sensei’s experience, talent and amiable personality worked like a charm on everyone. Being so used to the stage and sharing about Makeup, this guy probably has makeup and art blended into his very blood.
I reviewed the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream & Peri’s Lip Tint! I must admit, this is my first Matte lip stick and Lip Tint and I feel pretty excited about them 8D
Name: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream
Bought from: Watsons x SMoochiez
Price: $16.90
Rating: 3.8/5
My Colour: Tokyo
- Matte finish & pastel coloured.
- Very pigmented. Colours comes off exactly like how it looked in the tube
- Has a total of 22 shades! That means a lot of colour options
- Affordable. Ok, to me, this is not cheap because the local distributors marked up the price a lot more and I had to get it at $16.90 each. But for those of you who can get it at $6 (According to the website), lucky you!!
- Tokyo is such a natural and complimenting colour for me! Looks like I don’t have much lip product on
- Slightly dry for sensitive lips like mine. I have to make sure I apply a good layer of lip balm (and let it stay on the lip long enough to be absorbed) before using it. To be fair, I always have dry lips and I constantly need to reapply lip balm; so it could just be my lips. For those of you with normal lips, you will be happy to know this product isn’t provokingly dry :D
- Dryness tends to emphasize and settles into the lines
- Formula seems to wear off not-so-gracefully. Like this zoomed-in photo below, the lipstick after a few hours, have worn off almost completely except in the middle where it has ‘caked’ up.
- Does not last as well as I would like to. I’ve worn this to a couple of Photo-shoots and found the colours either don’t last or doesn’t really show up on photographs. Then again, It could be me licking my lips/eating too much or because Tokyo is such a natural looking colour that it blends in.
Overall Conclusion:
I like it ! Despite the cons I said, I still like it. I look forward to slowly acquiring more of it!

Name: Peri’s Tint Water (6.5ml)
Bought from: Qoo10
Price: $5.90
Rating: 4/5
My Colour: 01 Cherry Juice
- Stains instantly
- Good pigmentation
- You can layer the colours
- Relatively long wearing and waterproof. However it will not withstand a meal
- Very affordable!
- Easy to use
- Multi purpose. You can use this as a cheek tint too
- Cute packaging
- Dries too fast so you have to blend it out very fast
- Wears off patchy.
Again, I actually like it. I’ve only always used this for the ombre lip look, so my review might not be entirely fair to this product. But as a stain with a water texture, I like how flexible it can be used. I can overlay it on top of another lipstick for the ombre effect, I can use it by itself as a lip stick or I can use it to modify the colour of another lipstick. I can also use this as a blush!
Inspired by the many many “ 10/20/30 things I learnt ____________________” webpages I’ve read, this is my humble rendition of wisdom nuggets I wish I had known 10 years earlier.
Every day and every year, I grow older, uglier and weaker (we all die yea? Lol) but if there’s anything I fear about aging, it would be to grow old but not grow any wiser. What kind of life would I have lived if I don’t go through situations and learn from the struggles? Anyway, these are just some stuffs I put together. Not any life mandates and you don’t have to agree with me, I am after all, just a little nobody xD
Just caught the Xmen movie a few days back and I'm here to vent/ channel out my fan opinions. This post is loaded with spoilers so don't read if you haven't watch the movie!
Well to be honest, I don't watch many cartoons as a kid. The ones I can remember were only Captain Planet , X-Men and I think Gem ? Can't claim to be the biggest Xmen fan around but I've definitely watched all the movies and have been looking forward to this film for a while!
And I might have to say I feel a little disappointed. I found myself shifting around a lot during the movie and feeling nonchalant at all those sob worthy scenes =_=; maybe I wasn't allowing the drama to go into my heart :/
But I felt the story was a little jumbled up. Things moved a little too fast for those sad drama moments to really sink in.
That said though, the parts with the sentinels ripping and piercing the mutants apart was heart wrenching to us Mutant lovers. It's so sad to see colossus (iron clad man) get ripped into two T.T. Sad to see the mighty magneto so weak and frail and powerless against them and Bishop getting blown apart. And storm, my goddess getting killed with a single stab from the back T.T
In fact, I think that final showdown (or should I call it massacre?) Scene , played in slow motion was probably the highlight for me. It was so sad to see my childhood heroes who seemed so invincible get torn apart so mercilessly and easily. Argh hate those sentinels!
The other highlight of the movie for me was unexpectedly; Quicksilver. Man! I'm such a fan now haha. Not the diehard fan but I enjoyed his sequence a lot! In fact his part was the part that left the deepest impression when I walked away from the theatre.
Of course, I loved the sequence at the kitchen scene. It really erupted so much laughter in the theatre and the song fit the whole sequence so well! Props to Evan Peters for his awesome portrayal. I never bothered researching about a movie before watching it so I didn't know so many people hated Quicksilver's image. But honestly I can see why they hate it.
The 90s spykid outfit aside because I think that is actually quite legit for a teenager but his hairrrr! It just look so fake! Couldn't they have done a better job with it ><?
Thankfully, the whole mischievous quality came through very well on screen and made quicksilver out to be an unexpectedly joyful character to watch. Especially considering how sombre the rest of the characters are.
And his imply smile before he broke the glass was super cute haha :)
Overall, this is a show that I think I should probably rewatch to better appreciate. There are plenty of questions and loop hole to ask .
On the 6th day of my Autumn 2013 Japan trip, I went to the Square Enix cafe with Amanda!
She graciously allowed me to bunk over at her place when I was in Tokyo T_T. Helped me out a lot!
Can't believe how affected I am by the recent bad news in my life. So so heartbroken , sigh. The disappointment of multiple people rolled into one heart is proving too much for me. Which makes me start to face palm at how weak I am, alamak! Poke me with a fork and I'll probably die Lol!
Anyway life as been busy and mweh as usual. I mean life is good! But I've just been feeling a little low :/
I've been on a doodling craze recently. it all started last month (or early this month) when I sort of maxed out my data plan. Android tends to do a lot of things in the background that sucks up the data usage! So yeah I maxed out and had to abstinent from surfing or doing any sort of SNS on boring train rides. So I started doodling with my Samsung note3 stylus.
It turned out to be so therapeutic and de-stressing!
The stylus control on note3 is amazing and drawing on it despite the size and all is pretty comfortable.
I wonder if anyone can recognise the characters above XD
I'm going to cosplay a classic Chinese movie with Yuanie and Seiyume soon so the characters in the movie naturally became my doodle subject ahhaha.
Captain Levi! (or is he a Corporal?)
On a totally different note, I have to say how annoyed I am with myself. Whenever I have no time to blog , my head would be full of things to say. But when I sit down and get to it (actually I'm standing on a train now) , my mind goes blank =_=;
Bachelorette party and staycation with the girls yesterday! We had a lot of fun playing the games and watching movies~ (Rise of the Guardians and Captain America 8D !)
It's been a long and fun but tiring weekend hahaha. Its like a triathlon and I'm finally at the last lap of the race ahaha!! Racing home to get ready for a wedding dinner (last stop!) now lol.
I am so mighty proud of myself. I managed to shower, wash hair, curl hair, change and do my makeup within 1.5hr! In the past just makeup alone would have taken me 45minutes minimal! Kaika haz levelled up! Shall not bother self with little flaws in hair & makeup , I'm not the highlight of the wedding anyway heheheee. And I love the photo editing app called Meitu XiuXiu, it’s capable of making anyone look pretty =3=b
Ok. End bimbo post. Goodnights!
Name: Maxi Eyes SpectroFlex (Lilac Purple) Disposable Contact Lens
Bought from: An optical Shop
Price: $25 -30 (2 sets) *Prices vary*
Rating: 3.5/5
Diameter: 14
Prescription: Available
This is my first pair of Maxi Eyes Contact lenses. I’ve been hearing good stuffs about the lens from a couple of my Cosplay friends for a long while but I never got around to trying them.
The colour is amazingly pigmented even on my boring black iris. Both photos of me below have not been colour edited. Of course, the actual colour differs on different people and depending on the surrounding light, the lens can look almost black. But up close and in real life, the colours still stands out and brings a touch of mysticism to the overall look.
The Diameter of the lens is only 14 , which means it doesn’t have any iris enlarging effect. That however, does makes it look more natural and more suitable for Male cosplays.
I have relatively sensitive eyes. When I first wore the lenses, I felt very uncomfortable. I had to take it out , run it under the tap (OMG super bad habit, please don’t follow my example!) and put it back in again. However, Yuanie who was wearing the exact same lens (without prescription) felt it was super comfortable.
To be fair, discomfort from contact lenses can come from many things. For one, it could be micro dirt or fibres that were stuck on my fingers that then transferred to the lens and made my eyes tear.
I started wearing the contact lens at around 4pm and ended my day near 11pm. The contact lens didn’t feel too annoying throughout the day =)
Yuanie helped both of us get this contact lens because we were cosplaying twins and we tried to be as twin-like as possible by using the same contact lens, lashes and wig. According to her, she bought it at Hougang Mall for around $25 - $30 for 2 sets. That was a promotional price so the actual purchase price can vary. However I am under the impression that it is cheaper than the usual freshkons or Freshlook lenses you find in Singapore.
Overall, I’m pretty satisfied with the purchase. For a monthly disposable, it is a little pricey compared to lenses you purchase online or from Malaysia. But if you’re in a pinch and desperately needs a good pair of coloured contact lens then Maxi Eyes is highly recommended. Compared to Freshlook or Freshkon, the retail price is much lower.
